Heritage Happenings…What’s been going on at the Centre? 

 

Following on from our Woolly Rhino themed events including the Children’s Woolly Crafts with Author and illustrator Janet Brady, the winter will see some more children’s drop-in craft sessions, Halloween themed ‘Pop up coffin creatures and Terrifying Telescopes’, Bonfire Night themed crafts for November and Christmas Crafts for December along with our popular Santa and his grotto…yes parents have already been enquiring! 

For the adults we have three dates for our well attended Ghost Walks and Supper, so book quickly. We have also added more dates by request for local guided walks. Our monthly events of poetry, book club, board games and Heritage Talks will continue.

Welcoming Everyone Back

Monthly clubs have been increasing in number, and we are so happy to be welcoming our regulars back and welcoming new!

Webster’s Still A Winner

We have retained our 5 star Food Hygiene rating! Kelly Harrison, cafe supervisor of Webster’s at Wirksworth Heritage Centre was delighted that she and her team have once again maintained their 5 star status.
She said “the whole team work hard to ensure that the highest standards are maintained and that the confidence from the Environmental Health Officer proves that the work is worth while”
Webster’s cafe is open everyday except Monday and Wednesdays serving freshly prepared food and cakes.

Educational Visits

We have had two more schools attend since Covid paused all social and indoor activities, and more schools and groups enquiring.

Middleton Primary School visited us again, this year bringing a year 3 & 4 class to explore the Ice Age, Stone Age and the woolly rhino.
