Event Details

Our December Heritage Talk looks at the combination of technical miscalculation, human error and unbelievable bad luck which caused Titanic to sink just two hours before rescue. Historian Helen Monk reveals recently uncovered evidence that the fire on board Titanic was a major contribution towards its sinking.  We have timed this to complement our special exhibition ‘Icebergs, algae and Dalmatians, Wirksworth’s Titanic Survivor’, which we hope you will be able to visit in December.  This presentation starts at 7.30pm on Friday 4th December.

The talk will be delivered to you online through Zoom (which is free to use, and we will send you instructions).  In order to cover our costs and begin generating much needed income for the charity which runs the Heritage Centre, we are charging £5 for tickets for this event, bookable through the events page on our website (You do not need a Paypal account – please follow the instructions on the page to pay by credit card). When we receive confirmation of your payment we will send out a joining link.  If you have any other queries or would like to join our event mailing list, please contact us at info@wirksworthheritagecentre.org.
